How To Create & Amend Your Artist Listing

There are a few steps to create your first listing, or to edit your existing listing. Please make sure you follow this process to avoid confusion

1) Are you new here? To create an artist listing to participate in a Birmingham Open Studios event, you must first create a user account. To do this, head to https://birminghamopenstudios.co.uk/register to create a free profile.

To create a profile / username, you will need an email address, and to choose a password and username. This process is free.

Once you have registered you should receive a notification email to say you have created an account. If you did not receive this email, or are having any issues, please contact us. Sometimes new users get marked as spam by security, but we can manually approve these.

2) Log in. Use your username or email address, along with your chosen password to log into the website. This allows you to add and amend your existing listings. If you have forgotten your password, you will need to click on ‘Forgot Password’ to reset it.

3) Do not edit your profile, Your profile is a back-end profile that is not publicly visible. Editing this will not create a new listing, or change your existing listings.

4) To sign up to this year’s Birmingham Open Studios art trail event, head to ‘Join As An Artist‘ on the homepage, or click the link here. The sign-up application process is open between March and the end of June each year. After this date, this page will not work, as it will be too late to join until next year.

Please make sure you have read the terms and conditions at the top of the page, and understand our ‘About‘ and ‘FAQs‘. If you are unsure about something, please contact us first.

Before you sign up, make sure you have the following ready:

  • An artist name
  • An exhibiting address
  • You know which dates you are participating (these change each year)
  • A short bio, up to 250 characters
  • At least one (and up to 5) quality images of your work
  • Any web/social media links written in the format ‘http://www.facebook.com/username’ for example. Do not just use ‘@’ symbols, as these do not work
  • The payment fee ready
  • You can also add a longer bio, and tick boxes for live demonstrations and disabled access where applicable.

Once you hit ‘submit‘ it will ask for payment. This is currently managed via PayPal, but you can pay by debit/credit card using the PayPal merchant. Your listing will go live once payment has gone through

HOW TO EDIT AN EXISTING LISTING:

Log in at the bottom of the screen where it says ‘Artist/Crafter Participant Login Here’ (see image). There is a drop down list here, allowing you to edit your profile, artists etc.

Head to ‘My Listings > Artists‘ to edit your artist listings. If you have participated more than once, it will list more than one listing in descending order. Click ‘edit’ on the listing you wish to amend. The latest listing is usually shown top left.

You can essentially edit any part of your listing here.

Please note, any amendments done after early July will be too late to populate the details in the guidebook. Any amendments after August will be too late to populate the app.Â
