Thomas Tyrrell aka Ridlaa is a local, multi media artist, specialising in Visual Communication. Ridlaa specialises in lyric writing, film making, illustration, storyboards, graphics and print making.

As a profession, Thomas works as a graphics installer across the UK & Europe which inspires his work and projects to go further afield! Working alongside TAAF (The Aneurysm And AVM Foundation) based in San Fransisco, Thomas aka Ridlaa is now on a neu path to raise awareness for hidden illness’s, diseases and conditions through his visuals and music.

In 2020, Thomas created a short film entitled ‘Middle Finger’ raising awareness for AVM’s and hidden illness’s. This connected Thomas and the Director (Conrad Smart) to TAAF, leading to screenings on their numerous online events and also at Phoenix Cinema, Leicester.

Currently there is a new project is in the works entitled ‘Dead Bar’. A world full of nightmarish visions and tormenting memories, whilst at the same time showing how beautiful life and the world can be, all shot through different character Points Of View.

The Premiere Film Screening is playing at WIHH Gallery (Amsterdam) and ‘Dead Bar’ has become a travelling Exhibition with an interactive briefcase, numerous short films and visual art works to help spread the message.

These will be screened at Bisque & Bean (Raddlebarn Road/Selly Oak) on the 27th September, so don’t miss out!

Thomas is consistently striving to bring positivity to people’s lives, and to show how a change of perspective can make a huge impact, helping audiences to further understand what it is like to have a hidden disability and the side effects that come with it.

2025 is showing signs of a strong year for Ridlaa with a new album in the works, released through Solium Records (France) as well as ‘Dead Bar’ taking off in numerous ways.
