Karin is an oil painter with a background in architecture, whose work explores the intimate relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit. Drawing from her architectural training, she brings a unique sensitivity to the way light, atmosphere, and memory shape our experience of the world.

The piece 'Fifteen Years of Friendships' reflects on the evolving nature of relationships and how they influence our experience of a city - introducing us to new areas or passing through once familiar areas as the lives of friends move on, eventually building a network of association and layers of memories connected by place.

Her recent series 'Calm' evokes the quietude and expansiveness of lakeside landscapes across the UK—from the serene waters of the Lake District to the tranquil oasis of Moseley Park in Birmingham. The minimalist pieces capture the stillness of these natural spaces, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and experience a sense of inner peace.

Karin’s work has been exhibited at MAC Birmingham and she has produced group exhibitions, including an international show in Bath.
