Longer Description:

Based in North Staffordshire, Dom’s love of print has been the basis of his freelance practice since graduating from Staffordshire University with an MA in ceramics nearly 30 years ago. Working for clients like Wedgwood, Marks & Spencer, Denby, Sainsbury’s and Next he created designs for ceramics, homewares, textiles and packaging using CAD and working digitally.
In the last three years, starting in lockdown, he has returned to creating his own work, by hand, with a basic screen printing set up on his kitchen table. Inspired by his collections of ‘stuff’, and by designers like Charles and Ray Eames, Barney Bubbles, Peter Saville, by mid century ceramics, pop culture and pattern designers and illustrators like Susie Cooper and Eric Ravilious, Dom’s work explores colour, geometric pattern and humour with the aim of creating prints that are both cool, experimental and which bring a smile to the face.
With the support of his wife and fellow designer (@keeleytraae_3d), Dom has recently shown his work at The Hepworth, Cheshire, Liverpool and Great Northern Contemporary Craft and Print Fairs.
